Daniel Kelly
Current Position: 2018 Summer REU in Big Data Analytics at Washington University in St. Louis, MO
Lab Position: Undergraduate Researcher (Fall 2017)
Daniel is an undergraduate student in the electrical and computer engineering department at the University of Iowa. His research activities exploring nano- and micro-textures to enhance the absorption of a silicon surface and studying the effect of multi-scale texturing on the optical properties of silicon.
Past Experience: From Fall 2016 to August 2017, Daniel developed foundational skill level with C++, Java, and MATLAB. From December 2016 - April 2017, Daniel was involved in a drone building project based on a $500 grant through the College of Engineering Creative Kickstart Program.
Honors and awards: 2017-2018 member of the prestigious University of Iowa Honors Cohort made up of top ten students university-wide with an exceptional academic performance.
