Biography

Current Position: 2018 Summer REU in Big Data Analytics at Washington University in St. Louis, MO

Lab Position: Undergraduate Researcher (Fall 2017)

Daniel is an undergraduate student in the electrical and computer engineering department at the University of Iowa. His research activities exploring​​ ​nano-​ ​and​ ​micro-textures​ ​to​ ​enhance​ ​the​ ​absorption​ ​of​ ​a​ ​silicon​ ​surface​ ​and studying​ ​the​ ​effect​ ​of​ ​multi-scale​ ​texturing​ ​on​ ​the​ ​optical​ ​properties​ ​of​ ​silicon. 

Past Experience: From Fall​ ​2016​ to​ ​August​ ​2017, Daniel developed​ ​foundational​ ​skill​ ​level​ ​with​ ​C++,​ ​Java,​ ​and​ ​MATLAB. From December 2016 - April 2017, Daniel was involved in a drone​ building project based on a​ ​$500​ ​grant​ ​through​ ​the​ ​College​ ​of​ ​Engineering​ ​Creative​ ​Kickstart Program. 

Honors and awards: 2017-2018 member of the prestigious University​ ​of​ ​Iowa​ ​Honors​ ​Cohort​ ​made up of top ten students university-wide with an exceptional academic performance.
