Lab Position: Undergraduate Researcher (Summer 2025 – Present)

Alec is supporting build and characterization of a nitrous oxide optical sensor in our lab.

Honors and Awards: Alec is in the Honors Iowa Program and Engineering Honors Program. He was on dean's list fall 2024, spring 2025. Additionally, Alec is an EDGE scholar and HSF scholar.
Education: Alec is getting a double major in Electrical Engineering and Applied Physics and plans to graduate in May 2027 with a thesis. His focus area is photonics, and he is looking to pursue that interest in graduate school.
Extracurriculars: Alec enjoys running, reading, and cooking. He likes to spend his free time listening to music, training for marathons, playing videogames, and learning piano. At the University of Iowa, he is a part of the Iowa Hawkeye Ultimate Club and Iowa Track and Field Club.
