Ethan Chang
Lab Position: K-12 Researcher (June 17, 2021 – July 23, 2021 - Belin Blank Center Secondary Student Training Program )
Ethan is a rising senior in high school with interests in computer programming, biotechnology, and engineering. He will be developing a code to be able to determine tissue scattering at a variety of laser wavelengths that the Toor lab is investigating for surgical and cancer treatment applications.
Past experiences: Ethan has been involved with building a smart vehicle from scratch that uses AI and sensors to distribute salt strategically when it snows. He fixed computers for charity fundraising. His leadership experiences involve: President of the Middlesex School AI Club, Co-President of the Middlesex School Computer Programming Club, and Chief Writer for the Middlesex School Newspaper, The Anvil.
Honors and awards: Recipient of the Gold Presidential Volunteer Service Award in 2017 and 2020, the AP Scholar Award in 2020 and Academic High Honors 4 times and Academic Honors 1 time from the Middlesex School.
