Amir joined the Toor Lab in 2015 and is a graduate student in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at the University of Iowa. His research activities involve modeling the bifacial PV system performance based on a project in collaboration with the Sandia National Lab and National Renewable Energy Lab. 

Honors and Awards: 2012-2013 FOE (Faculty of Engineering) Award for ranking 3rd among all Telecommunications Engineering students at the University of Tabriz; 2017 University of Iowa Graduate Student Senate (GSS) travel award to present an oral presentation at the  44th IEEE Photovoltaic Specialists Conference (PVSC); Winner of the People's Choice Poster award (3rd place out of 111 posters) at the 2018 College of Engineering Research Open House; Finalist for the Best Student Paper Award at the 2018 World Conference on Photovoltaic Energy Conversion (WCPEC-7); featured 2019 graduate student researcher among 170+ nominations in the "Dare to Discover" campaign organized by the University of Iowa Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) to highlight research conducted by outstanding student researchers on-campus!
